Every day entrepreneurs from around the world ask me “When will I start to see results from recruiting online?” or “How do I get more Leads?”.  I can say from experience the number one issue that they (and me too) face is that they’ve overwhelmed themselves.  I hope to shed some light on how you can be more effective online.

In the following short article, I will let you know what you NEED to know about generating more leads so you can start to see profits. These 5 key areas are straight to the point and easy to understand.

1. Exposure: The more you’re out there, the easier you are to find. Market yourself, network, prospect, and drive traffic to your website and/or landing pages.  The way you do that is by branding yourself and by continually providing value and content.  You may be tempted to ask yourself “how do I get leads?” but this comes from an area of frustration and simply not knowing. You need to ask yourself “which strategy should I concentrate on?” Now you’re coming from a better place, a place where you have confidence and power. When you regularly provide content AND regularly connect with people, the leads will come to you much more naturally.  Choose a strategy and get good at it.  Then take on another one.  For example, the next two weeks you connect for 20 minutes every day with high caliber people on Facebook.  Then after that becomes a habit, start making a training video every week or creating a blog post every week.  I know so many people who have YouTube channels but they never add to them or they have blog sites but they don’t write blogs.  It is easy to be in overwhelm mode, but that is our choice.  A mentor said to me years ago – just DO SOMETHING.  When that something becomes a great habit, things start to shift!

2. Relationships: If people know you and like you, they’ll trust you. If they trust you, they’ll want to do business with you. Network Marketing is a business built on relationships and the internet is a great way to develop those relationships.

There are still people in the industry who don’t believe that online is a great way to go.  I still absolutely believe in the traditional ways of building like face to face, home parties and one on ones but we have so many “new” ways to connect too. Social media is fun and it is NOW!  Sites like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter are just a sample of sites that are based of relationships. My great friend, and rock star social media marketer Jessica has created a newly updated version of her Social Media training, that is quickly becoming the go-to training for anyone interested in getting better with online marketing.  I love this training and have sponsored over 130 people online due to what Jessica taught me.

3. Return on investment: Treat your network marketing business like a real business. You need to maximize your profits.  You want to think in terms of profitability.  What can you do for less money?  Advertising on Facebook can be very cost effective.  And you didn’t have to leave your house!  That is one reason why so many are turning to online for leads and recruiting, because many of us really do want to build their home based business from home.  I love to travel too but working from home productively is key!  We can never again say we have run out of leads with what social media has to offer.  Most of us don’t take our network marketing businesses serious enough.  If we had invested $100,000 to start our businesses, I bet that most of us would do a lot more!

4. Value: As a business owner, you get paid for the value you bring to the market. Whatever the value is, THAT is one of the main building blocks of your business. If you want to reduce your frustration and chasing after prospects, you have to increase your value. You’ll see that the people will start contacting you. Try it!  You want to put yourself in a position where people get you online and want to come back for more.

You don’t have to know everything and you don’t need to fake it. You just need to increase your value organically. How? By educating yourself. Webinars, networking events, books. Take the resources available to you and learn from the leaders that have already achieved your desired results. From there, take what you’ve learned and pass it on to your team members and to those that follow you. Some great ways to share are creating blog posts, or filming a video on what you just learned.  The saying is “Invest, Teach and Earn”.  The more you invest in yourself, the more you learn, the more you can teach.  Another saying is “your business will grow as you do”.

5. Know your value and embrace it: Sometimes it is easy for us to think small.  Sometimes we just don’t realize what we have to offer.  It is what holds us back from making videos.  From creating our own look and brand.  From going on FB Live….  We need to understand and appreciate how valuable the knowledge we have is.   Our story, our journey and what we learn along the way will help other people and they do want to hear from you!

Here is a simple formula to assist you: EXPERIENCE + TRAINING = VALUE

As your value increases, your brand will begin to establish itself.

Keep in mind two very important things as you are building your brand:

A) People must trust and have confidence in you because your brand is about how others feel about YOU!
B) Be true to who you are!  There is only ONE you.  Share your voice!

1. Share what duplicates.

In the network marketing world, duplication is everything. Focus on finding 2 or 3 strategies for generating quality leads. Can this strategy be easily replicated? If so, then you are on the right track. Once you have processes that work, it is easy to share them with your team and help them advance quickly. It will also make training and continued education much easier for you!  The saying isn’t what works, it is what duplicates.  You may have a very nifty way to build your business and maybe you do it behind the scenes, but the absolute key is to share strategies that EVERYONE can do.  If everyone can’t do, then be very careful about over promoting it within your team.

 

2. Understand WHY you are in the MLM industry.

To be successful you absolutely need to be motivated. You also need to be able to inspire your team. Take the time to understand WHY it is you decided to get into network marketing and what you want your business to do for you and your family.  Make it personal.  Dream about it.  Create dream boards with your why and place them around the house.  If that “why” is not strong enough, it won’t push you to success.  The saying is your vision needs to pull you forward.  There will be ups and downs but if your why is big enough, you will survive and thrive.  It takes time to build a network marketing business.  Usually much longer than people realize.  My WHY is to help lots of people all around the world with better financial health and to create our own financial independence.  And to take dream trips all around the world!

3. Earners are learners.

Always keep learning! The minute you stop keeping up with MLM news, strategies, team meetings, etc., you will lose your competitive edge. Just remember, there are other people out there who are just as hungry as you are, if not hungrier.  Stay one step ahead by knowing the best and most innovative ways to build your business.  And even more important than that is you staying inspired.  There are two BEST ways to do this:  always attend events and read 15 minutes from a positive book that inspired you.  Your job is to stay motivated and excited about what you have to offer.  Events ALWAYS rev me up and reading great books also make me feel like I can conquer the world.

 

4. Don’t rely only your warm market.

Let’s face it. It’s easier to focus on people in your immediate network to build your business. However, if you want to scale your business up, this is not a long lasting technique. Start thinking of innovative ways to find leads that can be replicated. For example, go to your town or county’s small business owners meet ups. That is a great place to find driven entrepreneurs. In the past few years, social media has been a great place to find new demographics and to connect with people that you never would have met before.  Think ambitious.  Motivated.  Self-starter types!  I love talking to small business owners because they already have jumped through a lot of the hoops we expect people new to network marketing to jump through.  Business owners already get the value in a partner and are looking for extra ways to earn income.

5. Get social.

Social media has totally changed the network marketing game. Social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter allow you to build teams all over the world without leaving the house! I am able to build and support my team and team culture using Facebook! Social media sites also allow you to communicate easily. 6. Be determined.

Building a network marketing business doesn’t happen over night. It will take time. It will take perseverance. You will hear  a lot of “no’s”, but you can’t let that deter you! If you can keep learning, testing out what works and what doesn’t while having a positive attitude you will go far in this industry.  I love that we get to earn and learn at the same time in our business.  Quitters will always not get what they want!  The fastest way to not get what you want is to give up.  You have to have the tenacity to ride the wave.  Enjoy the ride!  A couple of years ago, there were some leaders in my business that were so frustrated with where their businesses were and then  my company launched a new product that went viral and everything changed for them.  What if they had quit?  What if they didn’t have the long term vision you need to stay the course?  They would have totally missed out on the best financial gain of their lives.  It isn’t easy to stay in the game, but I can promise you, it is worth it!

How and Why to Make a Video for Your MLM Business

Videos are a great way to build a network marketing team, however, I like most of us struggle to do them! Very few of us like seeing ourselves on camera and we try to make things “perfect”.  However, sometimes you just have to push past what makes you uncomfortable and do what will reach the widest audience. After all, the field of video marketing is not going anywhere but up.  It’s necessary if you want to generate more leads in a shorter period of time. In this week’s blog, I will provide a few simple tips for generating more leads from videos. I will also show you how to make a video that is engaging and share some tools I use that make the process easier.

Why Are Videos So Important to Your Business? Videos are great for 3 main reasons.

First, they are a great way to reach new prospects. You can share benefits of your business or the product you are selling in a more personal way.  Videos uploaded directly to Facebook have very high view and engagement rates, so you are more likely to reach potential leads by sharing a great video. You can also post your videos to Youtube which is the second most used search engine in the world. Creating great content will naturally bring interested prospects.  And it is like with anything, the more you do videos, the more consistent you are, the more great content you provide – the more people will find you.  Videos more than any other tool help us to be seen as an “expert”.

Second, videos are a great way for people to get to know you. You want to ATTRACT people to you. People will get a glimpse of your personality and your enthusiasm for your business. People actually feel like they know us when they watch us on videos. This is great because you may have team members all over the world and you may not be able to do individual video chats all the time. Video allows you to share your message and energy with thousands and thousands of people.

Third, and most importantly, videos are great training tools for your team. Remember, duplication is key. Any time a tool can be reshared with a new prospect, helps them start building their business faster = more money in your wallet and theirs.  Start creating a library of videos that your team can refer and can use to train people they get to join.

Everyone Can Make a Video…Yes, Even YOU!

I wouldn’t consider myself “tech-y”, but even I have managed to create lots of videos! I am going to walk you through my video-making process and at the end, I want you to try making your own video!

First off,  you will need a way to record yourself! I like to use my laptop. My favorite recording tool is Screenflow because it allows you to record anything happening on your computer screen, as well as the audio.  This is extremely valuable because you can record live webinars or meetings you are hosting online. You can also record right from the camera on your laptop. Screenflow is a great option for PC and Mac users, but if you have a Mac, you can also use Photo Booth. You can also use your smart phone. Use what is natural and easy for you, otherwise it will become a chore. If you do use your iPhone, I would suggest investing in a mini tripod so the video is not shaky.

Pro tip: make sure you have a well lit room! Otherwise the video will look grainy.

The best videos are conversational. It may take you a few tries, but just talk how you would to a friend you met for coffee. Write down key points you want to discuss in the video, but don’t read a full script. If you do, you will sound robotic. Your quirky personality traits really make a video shine, which almost seems counter intuitive at first. Just be yourself! If you find yourself getting nervous, just remember, it’s just a video and it won’t bite you 😉 We are often more critical of ourselves, especially our appearance, but other people are watching to hear what you have to say. They aren’t focusing on your mascara or hair cut.  Believe me, we are our own worst critics!  I have taken 10 takes to do a simple little video and then finally got to the point, where I said enough!  Good enough not perfect is good enough!

Once you have recorded your video, you can post it on Youtube or Facebook. If you want to create a more advanced video, you can add a title page and audio using a video editing program, like iMovie for Mac. You can also pay $5-$25 on Fiverr and have a professional help you add that to the video for you. If your business is well established, I would suggest adding these elements.  Here is an example below of what I mean by a title page.

By using these tips and tools, even I have created great videos. Although it was hard to get over my fear of technology and recording myself, I pushed through it and it was worth it. In the past few months, the traffic to my website has increased exponentially. Now I am challenging you! Make your first or a new video and post a link in the comments section!

Recently I had an amazing opportunity to be interviewed by Vince Reed of Network Marketing Nation. I was able to share my experience in the network marketing industry and I hope it will help you become more successful online as social media marketers.   • The best thing about earning more money is the ability to inspire other people to take charge of their financial situations and become top earners! I have invested in that process over the years and I know it is a great use of my time.
  • What network marketing company should YOU work with? Do your research on the company, but also find a great team with an amazing leader. You should resonate with that leader’s style and integrity.  Your upline can make all the difference for you!
  • If you are just starting out in network marketing: it is important to laugh a lot.  And to bring your own personality into your business.  Just be you.  Don’t try to be anyone else!
  • Learn how to manifest your success! By reading and working with great masters, and consistently practicing spirituality and improving one’s skills with the laws of attraction, you can start manifesting the things you want.
  • Be consistent and always track your progress. A new person to the business needs to think of a BIG VISION and dedicate time to achieving that vision and do that every week.
  • Dedicate time to reaching out to 5 to 10 new people a day or a week (you choose) to build a network. Consistently work on this.  The speed that your business will grow ultimately depends on how many people see what you have to offer.
  • Check your ego at the door – remember: it is not about you, it’s about the team you work with.

Online Leads: Are You Following Up?

Online Leads: It’s All in the Follow Up

Generating leads online can be a huge part of building your network marketing business today, but what happens once you have generated lots of amazing leads? What are you doing with the leads?  It’s all in the follow up. How you handle and nurture these budding relationships will be a huge indicator of your business’ success.  It is easy to do.  I cleaned up my desk area last night and came across a file with leads that never quite got attended to.  Anybody else have that stack or file?

When I first started in the network marketing industry, social media played a very small role. I did things the traditional way and was admittedly very resistant to adopt social media into my lead generation model. In fact, I went into Facebook kicking and screaming.  I just didn’t get it at first and my wonderful assistant, Anne at the time said “Hang in there for 6 months and you will wonder how you lived without it.”  Once I took the time to learn about the social media platforms, I realized what a HUGE asset they are. I have been able to reach a much larger audience and make connections all over the world.

So what’s the best way to follow up with online leads? In this blog post, I share my best tips for maintaining online leads. A large part of my business is building online and through trial and error, I have come up with a few pointers that will help you learn faster.

First thing first….I would highly recommend reading my blog post on HOW to generate leads online. This will give you great insight into some best practices that will generate leads. As outlined in that blog post, the most important step is building rapport. If you want to reach out to online leads, get to know something about them. Spend time looking over their Facebook pages and posts to see what they are interested in. Pick something you both have in common and leave a nice comment or message.

Once you have made a connection, wait until the time is right and offer a tool, like a before and after image for example. Never just send a link. Sending just the link is aggressive and often a huge turn off. People are MUCH more inclined to listen to  you and engage with you and join you if the sale is softer.

Be genuine. Build a relationship and find out what their needs are so you can provide solutions. Get to know their “why”. The strongest team members are the ones who are passionate and motivated. Also, if you know what they need, you will know if your business is the right fit for them. When they have questions, you will have the right answers.

After they have had time to review and you have had some social rapport back and forth, reach out to them again, send another tool or a link this time. Using this softer and more personal approach works!

Be Attentive to Your Online Leads!

Make yourself available and be personal. If your lead has a question, best to answer promptly. Check your social media accounts often. People may reach out in a number of ways and you want to make sure you know what they will be. You will build your team much quicker by being active online. If someone feels supported, he or she will be more likely work with you.  If you want to build a social media presence, it’s like anything – the consistency of the activities will make the difference.

One sure fire way to make sure you never miss a follow up is using an online calendar or online to do list.   I use Toodledo to schedule reminders to follow up with leads. You can include notes as well, so make sure you leave yourself as much information as you can. Then you will have everything you need for your next meeting.  The stats are most of us need to hear about something 5 to 7 times before we say yes and 80% of us give up after the first no or we don’t follow up and check in with them.

Keep this in mind: you never know what has changed in someone’s life that makes now a better time to see what you have to offer them.  Make it fun.  When you check in with them down the road, say things like “It’s your monthly call.  Just checking to see if you want to say yes to trying my products now…”  I have had people who realized that I really meant this and got a kick out of my follow-up and finally said yes.  You don’t want to be a pest but the truth is the vast majority of us never get close to being pests in our follow-up.

Social media is a powerful force in the business world today. In fact, it has changed everything!  In order to stay competitive, you should make sure that social media plays a role in your marketing strategy. I have found in the last few years that social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (to name a few) can be a great way to generate leads, especially in the network marketing industry. The internet allows you to share your message with millions and millions of people all around the world. If you are wondering how to use social media to generate leads, you came to the right place! How to Use Social Media to Generate Leads

Using Facebook to Generate Leads

Facebook is the most widely used social media platform. (I went into Facebook kicking and screaming and now I love it.) Worldwide, there are over 1.39 billion monthly active Facebook users. Here are some tips on how to use Facebook to speak with those users. I would start by making a business page for your company. You can use your personal Facebook to market your MLM business, but at a certain point it will work against you because of the 5,000 friend limit. Setting up a business page will also allow you to run ads, which I will discuss later in this post.

First things first, make sure your Facebook page looks professional and includes all the information your leads will need to reach you. Here is a sample from my Facebook business page.

How to Use Social Media to Generate Leads on FacebookYou should be regularly posting to both your personal and business pages. I would suggest posting at least (minimum) one to two times a day. One key way to use social media to generate leads is by giving a natural, soft sell. People are used to seeing many abrasive ads on Facebook. Follow the 80/20 rule: 20 percent business posts, 80 percent personal/value/content.  People love pictures of you and your family and seeing the fun you are having.  Providing value and inspiration in your posts is key!  Keep people informed and entertained so when you do post a pitch for your business, they pay attention. This rule can be applied to Twitter and Instagram as well. Don’t oversell, it’s a turnoff! Also, focus on posting things that show people why they should be interested in teaming up with you. I love posting pictures of my travels around the world so potential leads can see what they can look forward to by signing up! People will start coming to you and asking you what you do and how they can do it to. That’s when you use your building rapport and closing techniques.

Boosting your Facebook posts is a great way to use social media to generate leads. I would suggest posting your product/service or even something like your favorite travel picture and boosting it for $5 to your friends and their friends. Big tip:  If you get traction on a particular post that you boosted, keep boosting it every day to keep it going.  I just met a gal that has over 36,000 likes on her Facebook page just because of that one tip.  You can also target the audience to include the countries you want to build in.  Using a message like “I am heading to Italy, love that my business allows me to travel the world!” or “Heading to Hawaii, who’s coming with me!” will generate interest. People will want to know more! You can also post about your product and boost that post. For example, “I absolutely love this product and the fact that it makes me look 10 years younger in one minute!”. Pair that with a video or image of results, boost it and you will see leads rolling in. Here is a sample video from my friend and team member, Bekki Hurley that went viral!

Commit to reaching out to 5 to 10 people per day on Facebook.  If you will do that for 30 days,  you will be amazed at the conversations you are having with leads and customers!  You can do anything for 30 days.  Make sure you make your messages personal.  Call them by name and comment on something you noticed on their page.  Connect with the people that are liking your posts.  They are already interested – they are there on your page.  Make sure you are responding to any comments on your page.

Now that we have Facebook moving in the right track, here are some other ways you can promote your business and generate leads. I would start by making sure you are on Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Google +. Maybe that sounds overwhelming.  Pick one of these plus Facebook and get these two going and you can add another one later.  Facebook is still the giant in social media for sure but Facebook is getting more particular/difficult about marketing so it is great to branch out.  You can use an online tool like Hootsuite to schedule your social media posts at once on multiple accounts to make things easier for you. Stick to the 80/20 rule for your posts and just stay consistent. You will start to spark interest and get leads naturally. If you want to speed things up, you can also run paid ads on Twitter and Youtube.

Once you have amazing content that shows people the value of your business and product, it’s time to focus on bringing more people to your pages so they can see it. By reaching out to people in a very conversational way, you can easily get them interested and then present to them when the time is right.  If you show a genuine interest in people and ask them questions, they will share with you what they like in their life and what they don’t like.  It is so true that people don’t care what you know, until they know you care.  This is true online and offline.  If you are the spammer on your Facebook, people will click off and go away.  Our audiences are much more sophisticated now.

One of the best ways to bring traffic to your social media platforms, is to focus and narrow down your audience. I have found one very successful method for this that works with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Think of your audience. What keywords would they tag their posts with? What type of keywords would they use to look articles or images?

We can use these keywords to reach out to customers. For example if you promote a weight loss product, then you could search on #weightloss or #weightlosstips on Instagram and start following accounts of people who use that hashtag. Once you follow an account, go to that person’s photos and comment on one. Your comment should not be a sales pitch! Say something like..”I love this picture!” or “You are a talented photographer!”. You will start to see a big increase in follows and likes if you use this method! Target a few keywords each day and set a goal of how many people you reach out to. You can also do this on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

LinkedIn has great advanced search options that can help you target your customers. One tip is to look for people who are already customers and learn about what they like. This will help you reach out to new customers. Use the advanced search options to dial in exactly what your target customer looks like and reach out to people who look like they may be interested in what you have to offer. I would also suggest posting to your LinkedIn profile a few times a week – make sure to follow the 80/20 rule. LinkedIn gives you an option to run an ad for you post. You can use that feature if you want to increase the reach of your message.

If you can spend 30 minutes a day developing your presence on social media, it will start to take off for you quickly.  Consistency is the key – just like with all things!

My Top 8 Network Marketing Tips for Beginners…

Sometimes I stop to think about when I first started in the Network Marketing profession. If I knew everything I know now, things would have been much easier! I would like to share some of my best network marketing tips with you so that you can build your business and cash flow.

If I were a beginner in network marketing:

1.  Start with a great daily routine. If you want to be a top earner, you must be willing to make sacrifices and change your current behaviors to make way for new ones. I like to keep an online copy of my daily routine and check items off the list as the day goes on.  (I am known to be one of those people that puts things on the list that I have already done, just so I can check it off.  ..)

One of the most important network marketing tips…pay attention to “speed works”.  Try to build your cash flow from you business quickly, what I mean by that is you can build this business quickly with speed or you can build in slow and it may be painful.  Go all out – sponsor as many people as you can in your first 90 days.  And teach your teammates to do the same thing.  And if you have been in awhile, then do another burst of energy and go all out for 90 days.  We can do much in 90 days!  Think of it like a sprint.  This business works best when you build it with several sprints.  In terms of training, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Plug into your company training and your upline system.  Do your research online and watch as many network marketing training courses as you can. Build on what is already out there for you!

3. Make sure that the company you join with is internet and social media savvy. Social media is one of the greatest tools in your network marketing toolbox. You want a company that encourages you to share your products online.  Facebook alone has changed how we can build this!  I love the team culture you can create with team facebook group page.  It can be a major asset for your team.  I love and embrace many of the social media sites, instant presenter and screen flow for videos to youtube.  Create videos on a regular basis for your youtube account.  The more value and content you create, the bigger your BRAND is and the more people find you and want to partner with you.

4. Do you love the product you are selling? If you are not excited about the product and don’t use it regularly, it may not be the right company for you. You want people to see how enthusiastic you are about it so they too will be excited.  You have to be a product of your product!  Your own testimonial about your products and services will make all the difference for you.  Keep it real.  Keep it genuine.  And use both your product AND business testimonial to grow your business.  Get good at sharing this – this is your story and you will repeat it many, many times as you build your success.  Get excited about sharing your story at company events and home parties.  Be enthusiastic about your product or service.  A mentor said to me years ago “Can you stay excited about this for a very long time?”  It can’t be the same old, same old to that brand new person you are talking to.  They need to feel like you are as excited and happy about this as the day you started.  Top 8 Network Marketing Tips for Beginners - Go to events!

5. Events are extremely important, and I cannot stress that enough! Events help you build your network and keep you up-to-date with new things happening in the company.  Always, always attend your big company events and bring as many people as you can.  The people there with the most people make the most money.  It is a principle that works in our profession.

6. Have a long term plan. You can incorporate all of these network marketing tips into a daily plan and long term plan. Challenge yourself, but make your goals achievable. I like making dreamboards that I can keep as a reminder of the things I want to accomplish.  I will create a video on the power of dream boards soon.  Give this enough time.  This isn’t about getting rich quickly.  It takes work and time – but it is so worth it!

7. Create your own library of tools that you can share with your team. Hopefully your upline can help you with this, but if not, then you have to put it together so it is simple and duplicatable.  If you freeze when you sponsor or enroll someone because you don’t know what to do with them next, that won’t create the team you want.  Make sure you know absolutely what to do next! Give people all of the tools they need to succeed. I store all of my images, videos and worksheets online so they are easily accessible.

8. Be the leader you want to attract. This will shine through everything that you do. If you want to have a strong team, you must set the example.  Act as if you are that leader.  You CAN learn the skills that make a difference in our business.  The ones that win are the people who show the most presentations.  It is that simple.  Become that leader that you hope to have in your business and one day you will attract that person to you.

Are Home Parties still worth it?  Still necessary?

I have 8 plus years experience in the industry and have some thoughts about this.  With the age of the internet tools we have available today and all the ways there are to connect with social media, I am hearing more and more often that home parties aren’t worth it.   Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the tools we have available on the internet and I have sponsored over 70 people in the last year from social media connections.  And I also love hosting and attending home parties.  Home parties are still a GREAT TOOL in the tool box for network marketing.

You might hear an internet marketer say you can build your network marketing business all online.  And you can, but will YOU?  Building ALL online is done successfully by very few people.  And if you talk to almost every 6 figure and 7 figure income earner that exists today, we will tell you that our success comes from a combination of offline (one and ones, home parties, events) and online (facebook, webinars, linked in…).  There are many top earners today that have achieved their success strictly through offline activities, but the world has changed and we do have these incredible online tools available and it does make sense to learn these new skills. I am just saying don’t throw a proven technique out because it seems old school.

Why are Home Parties still effective?

I believe Home Parties/Home Business Reviews are still very effective especially when you are just getting your business started and/or you want to jumpstart your business.  And this is true for most of your team too.  Social media is just a way to connect with people, often we still need to pick up the phone and talk to someone if it is someone we are really going to build a partnership with.   One of the biggest reasons people stay in their network marketing business is because of the community we create and home parties are one of the very best ways to stay in touch, to be in community and to get to know your team and prospects.  It is very hard to create online what happens at a home party.

How to Recruit using Facebook Plus… For Network Marketers

Would you like to learn how to be more effective prospecting on social media?

The world has changed since I started in the Network Marketing profession in 2006.  At that time, the CEO of my then company told us at the convention NOT to talk about the company on Facebook.  That is how new and I guess, scary Facebook was.  Today, if a CEO said that we would think they were crazy.  Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest and Instagram are exciting, fun and wonderful ways for us to connect with family and friends AND amazing tools to connect with potential customers and potential business partners.  I did not think that 4 years ago.  I went into this world kicking and screaming because I couldn’t imagine that I had more inboxes!  My assistant (much younger than me) told me that someday I would wonder how I ever lived without it.  And I get it now.   Since then, I have added Linked In, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.  Who would have thought?  Believe me, not me a few years ago!

It is great to be more connected with your tribe using all of these tools.  And yes, you can make money using Facebook and all the social media sites for your network marketing business.  I have recruited over 65 people in the past year using primarily Facebook.   Once I got serious about this, I realized how if I could figure out how to recruit using Facebook, then so could you.

Prospecting on Social Media is fun

AND there are some guidelines you want to pay attention to.  In this upcoming webinar,  I walk you through some key points.  They really would apply for any business but especially important for our network marketing community.  The key is to connect with people – just like you do in person.  It has to be more about them than you.  You don’t walk up to somebody in a coffee shop and slam your product or webinar in front of them.  That isn’t how you start the conversation, right?  Well, sending your link to a person you don’t know feels very similar.  It takes time to build rapport.  Get to know people and find out if you would even want to work with them.    Take the time…

I know this webinar will give you some ideas as to how to make better connections and how to recruit using Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Twitter and Pinterest.

Those are my favs these days.  Choose one or two to master first.  Don’t get overwhelmed.  That really is a state of mind and a choice.  And a daily practice not to get overwhelmed.  Just break it down.  Organize your thoughts and your posts at the beginning of the week.  If you are new to this world, get comfortable with one.  You can have great success mastering one!   Once you get going, your team will start following your lead.  Just imagine that you have more people coming into your business every single week because your team GETS how to do this. Which means you and your team have figured out how to make money using Facebook plus… Prospecting on social media is something that you definitely can learn and then can teach.   There is a sense of accomplishment when you start to figure this out too.  I had a great conversation with a gal yesterday that “found” me on Instagram.   When someone says, I “found” you on Linked In or Facebook, you know you are doing something right.  Here’s to getting found more often!

Network Marketing Tips: How To Get More Customers

Wouldn’t it be great to know how to get more customers?

Here is a question.  What if you could show and tell your prospective customers how to use your products and what you like about them?  What if there was a way to get your passion across in a duplicatable way – there is. I know videos are a great way to set you apart from the pack. They aren’t always easy to get done and lots of things get in the way but it is so true that the more you do, the easier it becomes. Create a video that shows your prospects how to use your products – whatever that might be – whether it is a health and nutritional product, or a body wrap or a legal service.

You could create a video that highlights the main products and explains when and where they would use it.  This short video is a quick example that I created for my company’s product line.  You get the idea.  It doesn’t have to go into all the ingredients and the features.  You will convert more prospects into customers because people feel like they know you. Like they have met you via the video.

Create a video to share how and when you use your  products.

How to get more customers …. it’s all about being personal

Just a quick overview with some of the things that you really like about product X.  Tell your story.  Telling a story will always make your videos more interesting and personal.  And it will be easier for you to create them!  And remember when you are creating a video – you are talking to ONE person.  Make it friendly and accessible.  Don’t think about the thousands that might see it.  Think about your neighbor across the street – the one you really like that is the perfect customer for your product or service.  And above all – don’t try to be perfect.  If you do, it may not ever get done.  Just start….  It is our quirks that make us interesting anyway.  All you have to be is YOU on camera. Make sure you smile more than usual and pump up the energy too.  The camera responds well to movement and passion in your voice.  I know I need to learn to relax more and smile more, too in front of the camera. All a work in progress!

Once you have this video, then you can start sharing it online.  You will have it to send out in emails when prospects inquire.  You can post it on Facebook and in Facebook groups.  You can write a blog about it.  You can publish it on Youtube.  Videos are so multi-purpose.  And they last.  You can use them over and over again.  And people love seeing and hearing you share what and why you love your products.  And I would expect that you would be one step closer to figuring out how to get more customers.
